Lecture 3: Manifestos

With Adelina Court

Included in the submission of our current module, Applied Professional Practice we were meant to create a design manifesto. To me this was extremely intimidating as writing isn’t my strongest area and thanks to my A-level in History my mind flashed back to reading pages and pages of the October Manifesto. Thankfully concluding Adelina’s lecture I realised there is more than one type of manifesto and it can be presented in a variety of different ways.

During the lecture we were provided with a worksheet containing a number of questions, that would assist us in the development of our own personal manifesto as a designer. We also broke off into small groups to discuss three new questions we would like to add to our worksheet. I found this whole process really helpful in building my understanding of a design manifesto as well as considering what I want my design manifesto to tell others about me.
