AutoCAD is a software that I have periodically been made aware of, however with my lecturers recommendation of the equivalent 3D modelling software SketchUp. I saw little reason to teach myself the fundamentals of AutoCAD believing that anything one could do so could the other. Whilst this train of thought is not incorrect, I have decided to give AutoCAD ago after seeing the unblemished digital layout and floor plans created when utilising CAD.
Unfortunately I only managed to complete two and a half hours of the course I selected to teach me the principles of AutoCAD. Ultimately I found the course exceedingly difficult to follow and while CAD is a software I hope to continue to improve in, currently without the proper support of attending an actually class or being able to ask a professional how to use a certain tool or more importantly construct a wall. I think its best for my peace of mind to step back and explore other avenues of establishing clean digital plans and elevations. For instance, SketchUp Layouts, a addition to SketchUp I was not previously aware of.
