Collier Street Baths by Ian McKay

Impressionist artist Ian McKay draws continued inspiration from the abandoned Collier Street Baths. McKay’s artwork focuses on elements of the building’s exterior architecture reflecting its palette and textures through his impressionism style. His employment of visible brushstrokes emphasise the movement and changing qualities of light communicating McKay’s visual interpretation of the Grade II listed building.

I thoroughly enjoyed viewing the Collier Baths through the eyes of McKay and hope to visit it myself in the future. As of now however I have been experimenting with creating similar textures using texture paste and acrylic paint, on the exteriors of my sets.
